San Francisco committed four errors, and when you give a team extra outs and still have to face Max Meyer for five innings, the result writes itself. Trevor McDonald left after three innings with five runs against him — three earned, which tells you where the other two came from. Heriberto Hernández's two-run homer in the fourth, 107.2 mph off the bat, was the one clean swing that separated the clubs. Pete Fairbanks struck out two in a perfect ninth.
