Corbin Carroll singled in a run in the first and Junior Caminero answered with a solo homer, and then neither team scored again until Jonathan Aranda went deep with Yandy Díaz on base in the fifth. Michael Grove threw three innings of one-hit relief — four strikeouts, no walks, thirty-four pitches — and Bryan Baker needed ten to retire the side in the ninth. Ketel Marte's solo homer in the eighth brought Arizona within two, and they got no closer.
