Miami put thirteen balls in play that became hits — eleven of them off Andre Pallante in six and two-thirds — and St. Louis never led. Kyle Stowers drove in the first two, one in the first and one in the third, and Xavier Edwards and Javier Sanoja added runs in the fourth on ground balls that found grass. Ryan Gusto threw three and a third before John King and Anthony Bender covered the next three innings without allowing a run. The Cardinals left eight on base and scored once.
