Tommy Edman's first homer of the year was a three-run shot in the third on an 84.6 mph slider, and it turned a 2-1 game into a laugher before the fourth inning arrived. Justin Wrobleski threw 110 pitches across seven innings, struck out 11, and didn't walk anyone, and the Dodgers didn't need a reliever until the eighth. Jeffrey Springs took the loss after 5.1 innings and 92 pitches, giving up six earned runs on eight hits and four walks. Miguel Rojas added a solo homer in the sixth and a sacrifice fly in the seventh, and the Athletics were within a run after the first before Edman's swing opened it up.
