Colson Montgomery's two-run homer in the third — 109.7 mph off the bat — was part of a three-run inning that gave Chicago a lead, but Gabriel Arias tied it with a three-run shot in the fifth. Sam Antonacci's groundout in the sixth scored the deciding run. Colin Holderman gave up two hits and a walk and took the loss without recording an out. Erick Fedde gave the White Sox 5.1 innings after Chris Murphy lasted two outs. Sean Newcomb covered the last 1.2 innings for the save. Kyle Teel hit his second home run of the season in the first. Cleveland left eight on base and outhit Chicago 12 to 9.
