Jared Jones threw six innings without allowing a hit — eight strikeouts, zero walks, 53 of 77 pitches for strikes — and the game was 0-0 when he left. Mason Montgomery pitched a clean seventh. Dennis Santana came out for the eighth and gave up a two-run homer to Joey Bart on a 93.5 mph sinker. Isaac Mattson gave up a run-scoring single to Drake Baldwin in the ninth. Grant Holmes held Pittsburgh to three hits in five, Didier Fuentes and Dylan Lee each worked a clean inning, and Raisel Iglesias struck out two in the ninth for the save. Jones allowed no hits and no walks through six full innings. The Pirates lost 3-0, and the loss belongs to two relievers who gave up three runs in two innings.
