Chase Meidroth's double in the sixth — on a 96 mph fastball — scored Colson Montgomery for the only run. Gage Jump took the loss despite 5.2 innings of one-run ball and seven strikeouts. Erick Fedde gave up two hits in four innings for Chicago, and Grant Taylor struck out two in 1.2 innings for the save. The Athletics had four hits and left eight on base. Jacob Wilson tripled for the first time this season. Randal Grichuk's 113.6 mph double was the hardest ball hit by anyone all night, and the Athletics did not score.
