One run, scored in the 4th, on a ground ball single by George Springer that brought Vladimir Guerrero Jr. home — and that was the game. Shane Bieber gave six innings of three-hit, zero-run baseball and struck out six, and Jeff Hoffman, Tyler Rogers, and Louis Varland each took an inning to finish it. Davis Martin took the loss for Chicago with 5.2 innings of one-run ball and five strikeouts, and Jordan Hicks threw eight pitches in a clean inning of relief that meant nothing to the scoreboard. The White Sox had four hits, left five on base, and Guerrero's double to lead off the 4th — 402 feet, 106.7 mph — was the only swing that set up a run.
