Orion Kerkering came in for the seventh with a 4-2 lead and left with it gone, having faced five hitters and recorded two outs. Christian Encarnacion-Strand doubled home two on a sharp line drive to center, and Gunnar Henderson followed with a two-run triple — four runs on two swings, and Philadelphia did not score again. Andrew Painter had given them six innings of two-run ball, and the bullpen handed it back in 27 pitches. Brandon Young got the win for 5.2 innings of four-run ball, and Tyler Wells closed it with a 10-pitch ninth.
