Ryan Weathers gave the Cardinals four hits over six innings and nothing crossed, and the Yankees needed only two swings. Jazz Chisholm went deep in the second on a 79.4 mph curveball. Lombard — in his first extended stretch in the big leagues — turned on an 0-2 sweeper at 81.3 mph and sent it out to left center for his first home run. A player has been waiting for that one since he understood what the job was, and it came in a game where the pitching made it stand up. St. Louis put seven men on base and none of them scored. Hunter Dobbins took the loss after six and a third innings, giving up two runs on four hits, and both runs left the yard.
