Alec Burleson's two-run double in the fifth was the swing that opened it up, a sharp liner to center that scored JJ Wetherholt and Iván Herrera. Wheeler gave up five runs — four earned — across five innings, and Kyle Leahy matched him with five innings of one-run ball, striking out six without a walk. José Alvarado came on in the seventh and threw 22 pitches to get one out — three walks, a single, two runs — and the margin went from four to six. Nathan Church added a sacrifice fly later in the inning, and the Phillies managed six hits all night.
