The lead changed five times, and the fifth one stuck. Heriberto Hernández singled in two runs in the eighth on a 92.8 mph sinker, and that was the margin. Tejay Antone took the inning for Cincinnati and got one out — three runs, one hit, eleven pitches. Brady Singer had given the Reds six innings and struck out four, and the bullpen behind him gave it away. Ryan Gusto started for Miami and gave up four runs, only two earned, in 4.2 innings. Pete Fairbanks struck out the side in the ninth to close it. Four home runs left the yard, and the one that decided it was a single.
