Hunter Brown struck out ten Royals in five innings, walked three, and gave up two hits — one of them Carter Jensen's fifth-inning double that cut the lead to 2-1. Jeremy Peña had already homered twice by then, solo shots on an 0-0 cutter and a 1-0 curveball, and Yordan Alvarez's two-run homer in the fifth on a 3-2 changeup at 79.4 mph widened the margin to four. Vinnie Pasquantino's sixth-inning home run was as close as Kansas City got.
