Six runs scored in the fourth inning and the Athletics never got within five. Jeffrey Springs gave up five hits and six earned runs in three and a third, and Joe Rock came in and walked both hitters he faced — the second one forced in a run. Chandler Simpson's two-run single and Richie Palacios's two-run double did the damage, and Palacios came home when Jonah Heim bobbled the ball at the plate. Drew Rasmussen threw five shutout innings on the other side, and Lawrence Butler's 437-foot home run was the only run the Athletics managed.
