Tanner Gordon threw 86 pitches to get nine outs, and the second inning alone sent seven across. Xander Bogaerts drove a 90.2 mph fastball 441 feet to left — his 12th — and then, three batters later, legged out the first triple of his season on a line drive to center. Jackson Merrill tripled in the same inning on a ball that deflected off the right fielder, and two innings later Jake Cronenworth got his first triple too. Michael King handed the bullpen six innings on 104 pitches, and Bogaerts finished a single short of the cycle.
