Five earned off Paul Skenes in six innings — he struck out seven and threw 63 of 89 pitches for strikes, but the ball kept finding grass. Kansas City took the lead in the first and held it until Pittsburgh tied things in the fifth. Then the seventh flipped it for good. Fifteen hits for Pittsburgh, ten left on base, and Brandon Lowe's 32nd home run traveled 417 feet at 105.6 mph off the bat. Nate Pearson took the loss: three runs in one inning, and Kansas City did not score after the fourth.
