Tyler Phillips gave the Marlins 3.2 innings of no-run ball, struck out three, and left with a 1-0 lead — then Cade Gibson and Tyler Zuber combined for six runs on six hits, and the game was gone by the middle of the fifth. Ty France's three-run homer, his twenty-first, came on an 0-0 sweeper at 81.3 mph and cleared the left-field wall with Fernando Tatis Jr. and Dustin Harris aboard. Nick Pivetta answered with five innings of one-run ball for the win, and Jackson Merrill's twenty-sixth left the bat at 111.4 mph in the eighth. Ten hits, two runs, eight left on base — a starter who left with the lead only to watch the relievers give it all back in one inning.
