Keider Montero threw 58 pitches in four innings, gave up one hit, struck out five, and was gone. Lee's ground-rule double in the first gave Detroit the lead, Báez jacked his third of the year in the fourth on an 83.3 mph changeup, and the fifth brought five: Malgeri's three-run homer off a splitter, Torkelson's 25th on a 98.6 mph fastball. Washington managed five hits all night and did not score until the eighth, when the margin was already nine.
