The Reds led 5-2 after six. Luis Mey came in for the 7th and threw 27 pitches. He gave up one hit, walked two, and four runs crossed. Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s RBI single started it. Okamoto's second double of the night, a line drive to center, brought two more around and put Toronto ahead 6-5. José Soriano had given up five earned in three innings of relief before Mey got the ball. Nick Lodolo had gone five and left with the lead. Louis Varland struck out two in the 9th for the save. The Reds had twelve hits and left seven on.
