The score was 7-7 going to the 9th. Nate Pearson threw 23 pitches, walked four, and gave up four earned runs without allowing a hit. That was the ballgame. Nolan Hoffman came in and gave up a hit and another run. The Royals scored two in the bottom of the 9th and still lost by three. Austin Hedges hit his 6th homer. Carter Jensen hit his 26th, a 418-foot shot at 108.4 off the bat. David Fry's 8th, a 2-run homer in the 5th, had given Cleveland the lead before KC tied it again. Eleven men left on for each side, and the game still ended 12-9.
