Miguel Vargas drove in six runs — a single in the third, a grand slam in the fourth, and a sacrifice fly in the sixth. The grand slam came on an 85.3 mph changeup and left the bat at 105.5 mph. Austin Hays added a three-run homer in the third, his first of the year, on a 95.0 mph four-seam fastball. Chris Paddack allowed eight earned in four innings. Davis Martin struck out six in five innings for the win. Liam Hicks homered for Miami in the fourth, his second of the year, and singled in another run in the eighth. Jordan Hicks needed thirteen pitches for the save. The White Sox left three on base all night.
