Bichette's double on an 85.7 mph slider put the Mets ahead in the first, and then Luis Arraez tripled and Matt Chapman doubled and the Giants had the lead for good. Robbie Ray struck out seven in 5.1 innings and Blade Tidwell finished it with three innings of two-hit ball on 37 pitches — the kind of long save that lets a bullpen rest. David Peterson gave up nine hits in 4.1 and could not finish the fifth. Mark Vientos hit his first homer of the year in the second, a 406-foot drive at 108.6 mph off the bat, pulling New York within one, and that was the last run the Mets scored. San Francisco left ten on and won by five.

◆ diamond fills = run scored
⚫ the out it made (1, 2, or 3), in that runner’s box
2‑4 a runner retired on the bases (caught stealing, picked off), written small in his box as the chain that got him

A ABS (Automated Ball‑Strike) challenge — filled = overturned
The diamond fills teal when the run scores; the out lands in the box of the runner it was made on. Names link to their pages at www.feverbaseball.com. New to the marks? The primer scores a full inning from scratch. Every pitch under these marks is typed, clocked and located off the same official feed. A hand-scorer could record what happened; nobody could record the pitch that did it.
