Richie Palacios sent a 90.8 mph cutter into the right-field seats with a man on in the tenth, and that was the beginning of the end for Minnesota. Junior Caminero walked with the bases loaded three batters later, and the Rays had a three-run lead before the Twins came up in the bottom of the inning. Nick Martinez gave Tampa Bay six innings of one-hit baseball and left with the score tied. Matt Wallner's 110.1 mph home run in the second was all Minnesota could manage off him, and it stood until Caminero's first homer of the year in the fourth. Simeon Woods Richardson matched Martinez — 6.2 innings, five hits, one run — and then both bullpens held until Justin Topa came in for the tenth.
