Drew Rasmussen threw 76 pitches in six innings, gave up one hit, walked none, and struck out seven. Tampa Bay built a 3-0 lead by the seventh on groundouts and a line-drive single from Chandler Simpson on an 83.9 mph curveball, and then Brent Headrick gave back a run and the seventh got close. Aaron Judge's home run in the ninth left at 108.9 mph and traveled 415 feet, and it cut the lead to one. Mason Englert came in for the save and gave up three hits, but the two runs he allowed were the last ones, and the game ended on a strikeout. New York had four hits through eight innings and seven in the game, and the three that arrived in the ninth arrived one inning short.
