Both of Naylor's home runs came on four-seamers — 95.8 mph at 0-1 in the first, 95.6 mph at 0-0 in the third. The first scored three, the second scored two. Five RBI from one bat, and Kirby handled the rest: 7.2 innings, seven hits, two runs, one walk, six strikeouts on 99 pitches. Burrows took the loss with eleven hits in six innings. The Astros got their only runs in the fifth — a Diaz single and a Raley single. After that, Brash needed four pitches to finish the eighth and Wilcox threw a scoreless ninth with a walk. The Mariners left eight on and still scored six.
