Kansas City scored six in the seventh to take a lead that lasted until Lucas Erceg entered the ninth. Erceg faced five hitters, gave up three hits and a walk, and was charged with three earned runs without finishing the inning. Vinnie Pasquantino's first home run of the season had helped build the lead the bullpen lost. Connor Seabold got the win for Detroit after giving up a run in an inning and a third.
