Heliot Ramos had not homered this season before the second inning, and the pitch he got was an 83.4 mph splitter that he sent to center field with two men on base — his first of the year, and the ball that broke the game open. Zack Littell gave up eleven hits and eight earned runs in four innings, and by the time Logan Webb handed the ball over after six, the Giants had ten runs. Ramos's homer was part of a second inning that produced six runs. Matt Chapman drove in two more in that frame and another in the fourth, giving him three RBIs on two singles. Drew Gilbert and Daylen Lile each hit their first home runs of the season, and Casey Schmitt added his second in the seventh.
