Eury Pérez threw 94 pitches in 5.1 innings, allowed four earned, and left trailing — the kind of line a young pitcher can carry for weeks if he lets it. Casey Schmitt's two-run homer in the sixth, 106.3 mph off the bat and 404 feet, was the swing that broke it open. Robbie Ray went five innings, allowed one earned, walked three, struck out four, and the Giants' bullpen gave up one unearned run the rest of the way. Drew Gilbert's second homer of the year put Miami ahead in the fifth, and Patrick Bailey's single in the sixth tied it before Schmitt went deep.
