The diamond fills teal when the run scores; the out lands in the box of the runner it was made on. Names link to their pages at www.feverbaseball.com. New to the marks? The primer scores a full inning from scratch. Every pitch under these marks is typed, clocked and located off the same official feed. A hand-scorer could record what happened; nobody could record the pitch that did it.

Randal Grichuk's two-run homer to left center in the first — 108.5 mph, 401 feet — answered Lane Thomas's sacrifice fly and put Chicago ahead to stay. He added a two-run single in the third, and Kris Bubic was done after four innings having given up five. Anthony Kay went six for the White Sox, allowing two runs on six hits, and Sean Newcomb covered the last two for the save. Kyle Isbel tripled for the first time this season, but Kansas City left eight on and scored twice.
