Nick Kurtz put one 442 feet to center in the first and the Athletics held that lead until the sixth, when Jordan Walker and Nolan Gorman each pushed one across. Zack Gelof and Shea Langeliers took it back in the seventh — Langeliers' single scoring two — and then St. Louis went to work against Jack Perkins in the ninth. Iván Herrera's groundball single through the left side scored Thomas Saggese, and Jordan Walker's double to right brought home the insurance run that held. Michael McGreevy gave St. Louis six innings of one-run ball, and Perkins faced five hitters and recorded two outs.
