Díaz swung at a 79.9 mph sweeper with Jonathan Aranda aboard and hit it to left. By the second inning, the Rays had five runs: Connor Norby homered, Hunter Feduccia hit a sacrifice fly, and Taylor Walls reached on a fielder's choice that scored another. Janson Junk threw 100 pitches in 5.2 innings — ten hits, seven earned, three walks. Jesse Scholtens went five for Tampa Bay, allowed one run, and Casey Legumina threw two perfect innings behind him. Walls added a two-run double in the fourth. The Marlins scored in the second and sixth and never got closer than four runs. Jakob Marsee and Cedric Mullins both homered in the sixth.
