Chris Sale left after five innings with eight strikeouts and the score tied, and the sixth inning happened to someone else. Danny Coulombe threw ten pitches and recorded no outs. A single and two walks loaded the bases before Greg Weissert entered and walked Mike Yastrzemski to force in the go-ahead run. Ronald Acuña Jr. was the next batter, and he hit a 107.9 mph grand slam 417 feet to left center. Jarren Duran's single had tied it for the Red Sox in the fourth, and they never scored again. Michael Harris II homered in the seventh, Ozzie Albies added a two-run shot in the ninth, and Boston left nine on base in a game they never led.
