Bryce Miller threw five innings of one-hit baseball and left with the game scoreless, and it stayed that way until Cole Young homered in the second and Dominic Canzone answered in the sixth — both solo shots to right field. Ketel Marte's sacrifice fly in the eighth tied it at two, and Jonathan Loáisiga took the loss without giving up an earned run, walking Randy Arozarena before Robles's ground-ball single through the left side scored him. Merrill Kelly went five and a third for Arizona, allowed eight hits, and struck out two, and the Diamondbacks managed three hits total — two of them home runs. The Mariners left twelve men on base and still won, scoring the deciding run on a ground-ball single to shortstop in the tenth.
