Alvarez's grand slam — his 22nd of the year — came on an 89.3 mph changeup and cleared the bases, and Kade Morris gave up nine earned in four innings trying to survive it. José Suarez followed and gave up four more, and between them the two starters allowed 13 hits and 13 runs. LaMonte Wade Jr. hit his first homer and doubled for the first time this season in the same game. Tatsuya Imai gave Houston five innings of two-run ball and struck out eight.
