John Rave hit his first home run of the season in the second and his first triple later in the game — two milestones for a player who hadn't done either this year. Carter Jensen, Lane Thomas, and Michael Massey added solo homers in the first three innings, all off Zack Littell, who gave up four earned in five innings. Luinder Avila held Washington to one run over 5.2 innings, and the Nationals didn't score until the sixth. Bobby Witt Jr.'s RBI single and Isaac Collins's bunt single in that inning pushed the lead back to four.
