Jake Bennett handed the ball to Greg Weissert after seven innings having thrown 81 pitches — four hits, one walk, no runs. Two of Boston's five came from Tsung-Che Cheng, who singled in the third on a 1-0 cutter and again in the fourth on a 1-2 curveball, each time driving in a run. Davis Martin needed 84 pitches to get through four on the other side. By the time Bennett left, 53 of his pitches had found the zone, and the White Sox had four hits to show for seven innings.
