Jazz Chisholm Jr.'s two-run homer in the ninth off Matt Krook put New York ahead for good, 4-3, and Austin Wells added a solo blast two batters later. David Bednar gave the Yankees two perfect innings on 27 pitches to bridge the gap after Washington's seventh-inning homers from Keibert Ruiz and James Wood had flipped the lead. The Nationals left seven on base. Ryan Weathers gave Washington 5.1 innings of one-run ball on 91 pitches, and New York's three errors didn't matter — the Nationals didn't score until the seventh and didn't score after it.
