Ten hits and two runs in seven innings is the line of a pitcher who refused to break. Cristopher Sánchez walked one, struck out seven, and threw 103 pitches, and the ten hits never came in the same inning. J.T. Realmuto's two-run double in the fourth on an 0-1 slider was the swing that decided it. Eduardo Valencia hit his second homer of the year in the fifth. Jhoan Duran needed eight pitches, seven for strikes, to finish the ninth. Both Detroit runs came in the fourth, on solo homers from Nathaniel Lowe and Eugenio Suárez.
