Willy Adames pulled a 96 mph sinker into the right-center seats in the ninth to tie the game at 4, and Nick Loftin laid down a soft bunt to first baseman Bryce Eldridge to score the winning run. Michael Wacha gave Kansas City six innings of one-run ball, and the Royals left nine on base. Caleb Kilian faced two hitters and took the loss. The Giants scored three runs on six hits, and two of those came on Adames's swing in an inning where they needed three.
