Ryan Waldschmidt's first home run of the season — a two-run shot to left center in the fifth — was the swing that turned a close game into a laugher. By the time the inning ended, Arizona had scored seven runs, and Yunior Tur's line read 0.2 innings, five hits, eight earned. Merrill Kelly gave up two over five and got the win, and Gabriel Moreno and James McCann both homered in the fifth as well. Ildemaro Vargas pitched the ninth for Arizona and gave up two runs, which is what happens when a position player takes the mound in a fifteen-run game.
