Martín Pérez threw five innings of three-run ball and left with the game tied — and then Connor Thomas came in and gave up eleven earned on ten hits and five walks in 2.2 innings. Francisco Lindor tripled in the first and homered in the third, both off Pérez, and Tyrone Taylor's three-run shot in the seventh was padding. Zac Thornton gave the Mets 6.1 innings of three-run ball and didn't need to be sharp. The Braves had six hits, left one man on base, and used three pitchers to cover nine innings in a game that was tied through five.
