Cal Quantrill struck out seven in 5.1 innings and allowed two hits, one of them Junior Caminero's first triple of the season for Tampa Bay's only run. Griffin Jax struck out 10 in 5.2 innings and took the loss, undone by sacrifice flies from Nicky Lopez in the second and Ezequiel Duran in the third. Austin Wynns hit his first home run of the year in the seventh for insurance, and Jacob Latz needed 10 pitches to close the ninth. Jax threw 93 pitches, 62 for strikes, and left with two runs against him, both on sac flies, both before the fourth inning.
