Spencer Horwitz turned a 2-0 sinker into a bases-clearing double in the third, and the three runs were the last Pittsburgh needed — Milwaukee's bullpen threw six scoreless after Brandon Sproat's three innings and the offense still couldn't reach level. The Brewers got within one on Andrew Vaughn's sixth-inning single and a throwing error by Esmerlyn Valdez, and came no closer. Henry Davis challenged a call on Jackson Chourio in the ninth and won the overturn, and Mason Montgomery struck out the side on eighteen pitches to finish it.
