Arenado's grand slam in the first came on a 2-1 fastball, his 18th home run, and the score was six to nothing by the second inning. Michael Soroka and Zack Littell split the game — 4.1 innings for Soroka, 4.2 for Littell — and held Colorado to five hits across nine scoreless frames. Gabriel Moreno tripled for the first time this season and later doubled in the eighth, driving in Jorge Barrosa, who had singled him home three batters earlier. Colorado used three pitchers and none of them reached the fifth inning.
