Patrick Sandoval gave up seven earned runs in four innings, and by the time he was done, Pittsburgh had built a lead Boston never seriously threatened. Bryan Reynolds doubled in a run in the first and scored on Brandon Lowe's single, and the Pirates added four more in the third — Reynolds and Lowe each singled in a run, Nick Yorke drove in two, and Henry Davis's sacrifice fly capped it. Sandoval threw 89 pitches, struck out six, and was pulled after four. Connor Wong hit a three-run homer for Boston in the fifth, his fourth, at 106.3 mph off the bat, but it only made it 7-3. Nick Yorke singled in another run in the seventh. Raymond Burgos and Lake Bachar combined for seven innings of one-run relief for Pittsburgh.

The diamond fills teal when the run scores; the out lands in the box of the runner it was made on. Names link to their pages at www.feverbaseball.com. New to the marks? The primer scores a full inning from scratch. Every pitch under these marks is typed, clocked and located off the same official feed. A hand-scorer could record what happened; nobody could record the pitch that did it.
