Nick Sogard's first home run of the season opened the scoring in the first, and it didn't hold for long. Lars Nootbaar's two-run shot in the sixth carried 420 feet at 110.5 off the bat, but Mickey Gasper answered with a three-run homer in the same inning, and the lead kept moving. Jovani Morán walked three in the tenth, and Jose Fernandez took the pitch that forced in the winning run — a walk-off walk that ended the game with a jog, not a swing. Brandon Pfaadt struck out eight and gave up five.
