Five runs crossed on Webb's line in 2.2 innings, the last three on Contreras's 26th, a fly ball to left that cleared the bases on an 85.2 mph changeup. Sonny Gray gave back four across six innings but never the lead. Gilbert and Devers went deep in the fourth, and Chapman struck out the side in the ninth on 20 pitches. The Giants' four runs came on two swings and nothing after the fourth.
