Bello threw 93 pitches, struck out eleven, walked nobody, and gave up one run in eight innings — the kind of start that should win a game and instead became a no-decision because the ninth belonged to Garrett Whitlock. Whitlock faced three hitters before Richie Palacios singled to right on a 95.2 mph sinker, scoring Junior Caminero from third, and Bello never had a chance to prevent it. Jonathan Aranda's home run in the fourth had tied the game on a 96.9 mph fastball, and that was the only run Tampa Bay scored until the ninth. Freddy Peralta matched Bello for five and two-thirds, left after ninety-seven pitches, and the four relievers behind him gave up one hit in three innings — the one that ended the game.
