Four lead changes, and the last one belonged to Rafael Flores Jr., whose two-run homer in the 8th — his 10th of the year — turned a 3-2 deficit into a 4-3 lead. Kansas City had gone ahead in the 7th on Vinnie Pasquantino's two-run shot, his 14th, and handed the ball to Nate Pearson to protect it. Pearson gave up three hits and two runs in two-thirds of an inning and took the loss. Michael Wacha had thrown 113 pitches in five and two-thirds and left with the game tied; Pittsburgh left ten on base and won by a run.
