Manny Machado's two-run homer in the fourth — 108.6 off the bat, 409 feet to center on a first-pitch sinker — gave San Diego a lead they held. His sacrifice fly in the fifth added another. Yoshinobu Yamamoto took the loss over six innings: five hits, four runs, two earned. The Dodgers had ten hits and scored once. Tommy Edman's sac fly in the fourth was all they could cash in. Robbie Ray went three and a third, gave up seven hits, and left with the game tied. Bradgley Rodriguez got the win with two clean innings and three strikeouts. Freddy Fermin's ninth-inning single added the last run. The Dodgers left twelve men on base.
